DENNIS ANYON SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ABUSE IN ELLESMERE PORT AND PENSBY
In a case that has shocked the local communities of Ellesmere Port and Pensby, a man named Dennis Anyon has been found guilty of multiple serious sexual offenses involving young boys. The conviction follows a detailed six-day trial held at Chester Crown Court, which concluded on Monday, November 2, 2020.It was revealed during the proceedings that Anyon’s abusive behavior spanned several years, beginning in 1983 when he was just 13 years old. His offending continued until 1989, when he was 19, marking a period of six years during which he preyed on vulnerable children. The victims, three boys aged between four and eleven, encountered Anyon at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall located on Rostherne Avenue in Ellesmere Port.
Much of the abuse took place within the premises of the church, where Anyon would inappropriately touch his young victims in the toilets. The court heard that the abuse was not confined to the church alone; it also extended into his private residence in Ellesmere Port, where he assaulted all three boys in his bedroom. These acts of misconduct have left a lasting impact on the victims and have been a source of community concern.
Dennis Anyon, now aged 48 and residing at Fairview Way in Pensby, was convicted on two counts of buggery and seven counts of indecent assault. As a result of his crimes, he was sentenced to a total of ten years in prison. Additionally, the court ordered him to sign the sex offenders register for life, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities post-release. The sentencing reflects the severity of his offenses and the protection measures put in place to prevent further harm to the community.
