DANGEROUS COUPLE DAVID AND LEANNE COOPER SENTENCED IN LANGLEY MILL FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF TEEN GIRLS

In a disturbing case that has shocked the community of Langley Mill, a couple has been sentenced to prison for their heinous actions involving the exploitation of underage girls. The court heard that David Cooper, aged 31 at the time of sentencing, and his wife Leanne, who was 25, engaged in a series of malicious acts aimed at enticing young girls into their home on Milnhay Road and subjecting them to inappropriate sexual influences.

According to court proceedings, the couple's misconduct began in the summer of 2004 and continued until the spring of the following year. During this period, they manipulated and exploited three teenage girls, with the intent of satisfying their own sexual desires. The court was told that their home was deliberately made to appear welcoming and attractive to the girls, who were only 14 years old at the time. The couple allowed the girls to smoke and drink alcohol within their residence, further creating an environment conducive to their corrupt intentions.

One of the most disturbing aspects of the case was the introduction of pornography to the young girls. The court heard that Leanne Cooper openly discussed her sexual interests and activities with her husband, even showing one girl sex toys and a nude photograph of David Cooper. On one occasion, Leanne suggested that a girl could 'warm up' her husband for when she returned home, implying a disturbing level of manipulation and encouragement of sexual activity involving minors. Another comment made by Leanne was to question how 'naughty' she could make a girl within a few days, highlighting the predatory nature of their actions.

Prosecutor Andrew Eastall described the case as a clear exploitation of vulnerable teenagers for the couple’s sexual gratification. He emphasized that the couple had successfully used their home as a venue for their manipulative schemes, which included causing the girls to watch sexual acts and inciting them to engage in sexual activities. The court was told that these offences had a lasting impact on the victims and represented a grave breach of trust and morality.

During the sentencing at Nottingham Crown Court, Judge David Price condemned the couple’s actions, stating, “You both set out to corrupt young girls. You made your house attractive for them to visit, you allowed them to smoke and drink. The girls were 14 at the time you introduced them to pornography.”

David Cooper was sentenced to four years in prison after admitting to one charge of sexual activity with a child. His wife, Leanne, received a two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two charges of causing a child to watch a sexual act and two charges of inciting a child to engage in sexual acts. Both were ordered to register as sex offenders for life, reflecting the severity of their crimes and the need for ongoing monitoring to protect the community from further harm.
