TONIA CRABTREE FROM LANGLEY MILL AND STOKE-ON-TRENT SENTENCED FOR FATAL STABBING IN LANGLEY MILL

In a tragic incident that has shocked the local communities of Langley Mill and Stoke-on-Trent, Tonia Crabtree was found guilty and subsequently sentenced for the fatal stabbing of her partner, Craig Morse. The devastating event unfolded during a heated argument in Langley Mill, where tensions escalated to a life-ending act of violence. According to court proceedings, the altercation began when Mr. Morse attempted to seize a knife from Crabtree, who was engaged in a confrontation with him. The court heard that Crabtree, in a moment of desperation and distress, 'jabb[ed] out' at Mr. Morse with a knife she had intended for self-harm, but instead, the weapon struck him fatally. The judge described the relationship between Crabtree and Morse as 'toxic,' characterized by frequent violence and instability. Testimonies from witnesses revealed that the couple had an 'on-off relationship' spanning approximately 18 months, during which episodes of heavy drinking and violent encounters were common. It was also disclosed that Crabtree had previously attempted to harm herself, and Morse had sustained injuries during past violent episodes. The fatal wound was a 9-centimeter stab to the heart, which resulted in Mr. Morse being pronounced dead at the scene.
