June 2011 Schoolgirl sex attacker jailed A 30 year-old Netherton man who carried out a number of serious sex attacks on two young schoolgirls has been jailed bars for eleven and a half years. Judge Nicholas Webb told David Wilkes he had damaged the girls both physically and emotionally adding, “The sentence must reflect the fact there are two victims.” He said Wilkes’ behaviour towards the schoolgirls had been “terrible” and concluded, “What you did will have a long lasting effect.” Wilkes, now of no fixed address, admitted five charges including rape, sexual activity with a child and sexual assault. The judge told Wilkes he must also be the subject of an indefinite Sexual Offenders Protection Order must register as a Sex Offender for the rest of his life. John Attwood prosecuting told Wolverhampton Crown Court that Wilkes had groomed the girls with tickling and kissing before carrying out the sex attacks.
