DAVID SPENCER'S REPEATED BREACHES IN MIDDLESBROUGH LAND HIM BEHIND BARS AGAIN
David Spencer, aged 45, has once again found himself behind bars after repeatedly violating a court-imposed sexual harm prevention order.His previous conviction dates back to 2019 when he was sentenced to 10 months in prison after being convicted of attempting to meet a teenage girl in a car park, an act that involved grooming behavior.
During that incident, authorities discovered Spencer with a mattress in the back of his van, which further underscored the predatory nature of his actions.
Following his conviction, Spencer was subjected to a stringent 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
This legal measure was designed to enable police to monitor his movements, restrict his contact with minors, and oversee his internet activity to prevent any further offenses.
Despite these restrictions, Spencer has now been convicted of breaching this order on seven separate occasions, leading to his latest imprisonment.
One of the breaches involved Spencer failing to disclose his relationship with a woman who had a daughter.
The woman, who was unaware of Spencer’s criminal past, discovered his history only after she attempted to Google his address and came across press reports detailing his previous conviction.
It was revealed that Spencer had attended her home four or five times while her daughter was present, raising serious concerns about his intentions and the safety of the child.
Further investigations uncovered troubling details from Spencer’s phone.
Authorities found that he had deleted hundreds of text messages related to another woman he had previously been involved with.
Additionally, it was discovered that he had used alias names on a pornography website and had engaged in sexually explicit conversations with various women through the messaging app Kik.
These actions were in direct violation of the terms set out in his sexual harm prevention order.
Spencer, who was formerly residing in Hartlepool and most recently living on The Crescent in Middlesbrough, also used Snapchat in breach of the court order, demonstrating a pattern of deliberate disregard for legal restrictions.
His repeated violations culminated in a sentencing hearing at Teesside Crown Court, where Recorder Paul Reid sentenced him to 43 months in prison.
The judge emphasized the seriousness of Spencer’s breaches, describing them as a clear violation of the court’s authority and the safety measures intended to protect the community.
During the hearing, Paul Green, representing Spencer, acknowledged that his client had begun to show some signs of progress.
However, the judge made it clear that the repeated nature of the breaches warranted a substantial custodial sentence to serve as a deterrent and to uphold the integrity of the legal restrictions designed to prevent further harm.
