FOLKESTONE SEX OFFENDER DAVID NEVE JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In August 2013, a man from Folkestone was sentenced to a two-year prison term after admitting to multiple charges related to child exploitation. David Neve, aged 61, was taken into custody at his residence on Coolinge Lane following a detailed investigation by child protection authorities.Authorities executed a search warrant at Neve’s home, during which various electronic devices were confiscated for examination. The subsequent analysis revealed that these devices contained over 350 indecent images of children, categorized across a spectrum from level one to level five, indicating varying degrees of severity. In addition to the images, investigators discovered nine video recordings depicting moving images of children involved in sexual activities.
Neve appeared before Canterbury Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to the charges. The court sentenced him to a two-year imprisonment term. Furthermore, he will be subject to an indefinite sexual offences prevention order, a legal measure designed to restrict his activities and prevent further offenses. His name will also be entered onto the sex offenders’ register, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public awareness.
Detective Constable Jon Baker, a member of Kent Police’s child exploitation investigation team, commented on the case, emphasizing the severity of the findings. He stated, “This offender had images of children as young as 12 months old, and this was recognized by the court as an aggravating factor.” He further underscored the importance of community vigilance and law enforcement efforts, saying, “People must understand that children of all ages are abused to fuel the sick fantasies of those who care little for their welfare. Kent Police will work with all agencies in its endeavours to bring to justice those who abuse and to safeguard and protect the abused.”
