August 2013 Folkestone man jailed for child sex offences A sex offender from Folkestone has been jailed for two years after pleading guilty to 15 counts of making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children. David Neve, 61, was arrested at his home address in Coolinge Lane following a search warrant by child protection officers in August last year. Various items of computer equipment were seized and found to contain over 350 indecent images of children, ranging from levels one to five. Nine moving videos were also found. Neve was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty at Canterbury Crown Court. He will be subject to a sexual offences prevention order indefinitely and his name will appear on the sex offenders’ register. Detective Constable Jon Baker, from Kent Police’s child exploitation investigation team, said: “This offender had images of children as young as 12 months old and this was recognised by the court as an aggravating factor. “People must understand that children of all ages are abused to fuel the sick fantasies of those who care little for their welfare. Kent Police will work with all agencies in its endeavours to bring to justice those who abuse and to safeguard and protect the abused.”
