DAVID DUNCAN SENTENCED IN EDINBURGH FOR SHOWER FILM IN CLYDEBANK AND FIFE

In a case that has shocked the local communities of Clydebank and Fife, David Duncan, a 45-year-old man, was sentenced to a lengthy prison term after being found guilty of secretly filming a teenage girl during her shower. The incident, which spanned several years, involved Duncan covertly capturing images of the girl in her bathroom without her knowledge, raising serious concerns about privacy and child safety.

According to court records, Duncan stored an alarming collection of digital images, totaling approximately 40,000 pictures of the naked teenager. In addition, he possessed over 82,000 other images classified as child pornography. The extent of his illicit collection was revealed during the proceedings, highlighting the severity of his actions. Duncan, who was unemployed at the time, resides in Fife, and his criminal activities led to a sentence of six years in total, with an initial three-year jail term followed by an extended period of supervision.

The case was brought before the court in Edinburgh, where Duncan pleaded guilty to charges of covert filming. The investigation uncovered that Duncan had installed a camera behind a false mirror in the girl’s bathroom, which allowed him to record her over a period of four years, from when she was 12 until she turned 16. This disturbing revelation was made during an earlier hearing at the High Court in Glasgow, where it was disclosed that the camera was hidden behind a tile on the bathroom wall.

The police action was triggered when the teenage girl accidentally discovered the camera equipment while in her bathroom. Upon finding the device, she alerted her parents, who then contacted law enforcement authorities. A subsequent raid was conducted at Duncan’s residence in Torrance, where officers uncovered his extensive collection of pornographic images. A child expert who examined the material described it as among the worst he had ever encountered, emphasizing the disturbing nature of the images.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Lord MacFadyen chose not to view the material himself, citing concerns that exposure to such images could require counseling. Duncan’s residence in Kirkcaldy was also noted, although the crimes were committed at a house in Glasgow. Duncan admitted to filming the girl between 1999 and 2003 for his own lewd gratification, as well as breaching the peace. He also confessed to possessing indecent images of children on his computer from January 1999 through May 2004.

Throughout the proceedings, Duncan showed no visible emotion as the judge delivered the sentence. The prosecution clarified that Duncan had previously entered a plea of not guilty to charges of lewd and libidinous practices involving another girl, but these allegations were not part of the current case. Additionally, Duncan has been registered as a sex offender, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from further harm.
