DAVID CROUCH FROM NORTHAMPTON RUNS BABY WEBSITE DESPITE CHILD ABUSE IMAGE CONVICTION
In a disturbing case that raises serious concerns about online safety and the management of convicted sex offenders, David Crouch, a 54-year-old man from Northampton, has been found to be operating a website that appears to be aimed at providing parenting advice, despite his criminal history involving child abuse images.According to reports, Crouch owns and manages a website called Baby 2 See, which is dedicated to pregnancy and baby-related information.
The site maintains active Facebook and Twitter pages, allowing parents to communicate, share experiences, and post pictures related to their children.
However, beneath this seemingly innocent facade lies a troubling reality, as Crouch is on the sex offenders’ register and is subject to a lifetime ban from working with children.
Authorities discovered that Crouch’s computers contained approximately 5,000 highly disturbing images depicting child abuse, including some of the most severe forms of sexual violence and torture inflicted upon young victims.
Despite this, Crouch has claimed that police authorized his involvement with the website, a statement that has alarmed many.
Sources close to Crouch, including a former friend who contacted the Sunday Mirror, expressed outrage over his continued activities.
The individual stated, “He should not be allowed to run these sites.
It is absolutely disgusting.
I’m sure young mums who are looking at the site don’t know about the man who runs it.
They would be horrified.” In addition to Baby 2 See, Crouch is listed as the owner of seven other websites, including one named parents2be.com, which also appears to target expectant and new parents.
Crouch’s criminal history includes a 16-month jail sentence handed down in July 2007, after he pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children and making a dozen indecent images.
The court was informed that German authorities traced him after he downloaded photographs and videos of child abuse from a German website.
Interestingly, the Baby 2 See website is also registered in Germany.
Following his arrest, police raided his Northampton home and seized his computers.
His legal representative explained that Crouch’s obsession with child pornography began after his marriage ended and he was made redundant from his job.
Despite his criminal record, Crouch insists that he is not in contact with children under 18 and claims that he initially designed the website for someone else, asserting it functions as a search engine rather than an information platform.
He further stated, “I do not work with children on the website.
The police looked at the website when I was convicted and were OK with it.
I would never want to break my order.” However, authorities remain cautious.
Detective Chief Inspector Steve Lingley of Northamptonshire Police emphasized the seriousness of managing sex offenders, stating, “We are unable to discuss the specifics of individual cases but I want to reassure people that we take our responsibility around the management of registered sex offenders very seriously and the protection of the public is always our paramount concern.”
