DAVID CRICHTON FROM WESTBURY JAILED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES IN SWINDON

In a significant development in the ongoing fight against internet-based child exploitation, David Crichton, a 49-year-old resident of Westbury, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison following his conviction related to child pornography. The court also mandated that Crichton be registered on the sex offenders register for life and imposed a lifelong ban on him working with children, reflecting the severity of his crimes.

Crichton’s arrest and subsequent conviction stem from a series of disturbing allegations involving the creation, possession, and distribution of indecent images of minors. The charges against him were brought to light after police discovered incriminating material on computer discs found at his residence on Fell Road, Westbury. The investigation revealed that Crichton was involved in the production and downloading of such images, which prompted a detailed legal process.

He faced multiple charges, including five counts of possessing indecent images, all related to the day of his arrest. Additionally, there were seven charges concerning the making or downloading of indecent images, which are believed to have occurred in Warminster between June and October 2001.
