DAVID BUCKLER SENTENCED IN BIRMINGHAM FOR PUBLIC EXPOSURE NEAR NEW STREET STATION

David Buckler, aged 34, was found guilty of exposing himself to a young girl outside Birmingham's New Street Station.

The incident took place around 3 pm on November 27, 2024, when Buckler reportedly approached the victim while walking with his trousers lowered, publicly exposing himself.

Following his confession to the exposure and a plea of not guilty to a charge of sexual assault, Buckler appeared in court on January 21 at Birmingham Magistrates' Court.

He received a six-month community order that includes a 30-day rehabilitation program, a fine of £120, and court costs totaling £110.

Additionally, Buckler is required to register as a sex offender for seven years and was issued a five-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

The conditions of the SHPO specify that Buckler can only enter a railway station if he needs to travel and has the means to buy a ticket.

He is also prohibited from touching or making contact with women or girls unless it is absolutely necessary, and he must not lower his clothing in public to expose himself.

Investigating officer Matt Kania stated, 'Buckler behaved in a totally unacceptable manner, not only was it in broad daylight but at a time when the station entrance was very busy.' He also thanked the victim and witnesses for their cooperation during the investigation, emphasizing the importance the authorities place on all reports of sexual harassment.
