DAVID ALLITT FROM PRESTATYN CAUGHT IN CHILD SEX OFFENCE PLOT BY UNDERCOVER HUNTERS AT MOULD CROWN COURT
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Prestatyn, David Anthony Allitt, aged 42, was brought before Mold Crown Court to face serious allegations related to online child exploitation. The proceedings revealed that Allitt, who previously worked at a Shell service station in Abergele, was caught attempting to engage in sexual activities with a minor through online communications. His arrest and subsequent court appearance followed an operation conducted by the vigilant paedophile hunter group known as STOP, which specializes in exposing individuals attempting to exploit children. During the confrontation, Allitt was found to have been attempting to incite a 14-year-old girl to participate in sexual acts. However, it was later confirmed that the individual he was communicating with was an undercover decoy operated by the online predator hunters, not a real minor.
Allitt, who resides on Stephen Road in Prestatyn, was charged with multiple offences. At the hearing, he admitted to four counts, including two charges of attempting to persuade a girl aged 14 to engage in penetrative sexual activity in August. Additionally, he pleaded guilty to trying to persuade her to view explicit images of himself and to engage in non-penetrative sexual acts.
The court was informed that Allitt's actions were part of a disturbing pattern of online predatory behavior. Judge Rhys Rowlands, presiding over the case, ordered that Allitt be rebailed until his sentencing hearing scheduled for January 24 at Caernarfon Crown Court. The judge emphasized the importance of a comprehensive pre-sentence report, which is to include a risk assessment conducted by the probation service, to better understand the potential danger posed by the defendant.
Furthermore, the prosecution announced plans to seek a sexual harm prevention order against Allitt at the next hearing, which would impose restrictions aimed at preventing any future offending. As part of his sentence, Allitt was also ordered to register as a sex offender with North Wales Police, a legal requirement for individuals convicted of such offences.
This case underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement and community groups to combat online child exploitation and protect vulnerable minors from predators operating under the guise of anonymity on the internet.
