June 2011 David Adams jailed for collection of indecent images A 65-year-old man from north London has been jailed after more than 150,000 indecent images of children were found on his computer. David Adams of Spezia Road, Brent, pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court to 12 counts of making indecent photographs of children. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison for each count, to run concurrently. On his computer were 150,416 indecent images of children including 22 post mortem images of children whose ages ranged from newborn to two years old. Adams stored the post-mortem pictures of infants in his computer in a file he called ‘dead kids.’ Adams was traced after police identified a website used by paedophiles to contact each other. Officers from the Met’s Paedophile Unit were able to trace one of the usernames used on the website to Adams’ home address. A computer tower, two USB pen drives and 11 hard disks were taken away and forensically examined. More than 800 of the images have been classified as “Level 5” by the police, which covers the most serious cases of child abuse. Over 200 movie files were also found. Det Con Lara Miller, from the Met’s Paedophile Unit, said: “This was one of the largest collections of indecent images of children that we have ever seized with a significant number of the pictures stored on his computers showed the most extreme levels of child abuse.”
