DARIUS SIERP FROM FOLKESTONE RELEASED ON BAIL AFTER HORRIFIC ANIMAL AND CHILD ABUSE IMAGES SCANDAL

In a shocking development that has sparked widespread outrage and disbelief, Darius James Sierp, a 19-year-old resident of Folkestone, was granted bail after admitting to a series of heinous offences involving the creation and distribution of obscene videos depicting sexual acts with animals and children. The case, which has drawn intense criticism from both the public and local politicians, highlights the disturbing nature of the crimes committed by Sierp.

Police investigations uncovered a disturbing collection of videos among Sierp's extensive pornographic archive. Specifically, authorities found eight particularly grotesque films that involved bestiality, featuring animals such as dogs and horses, alongside other unidentified beasts. These videos are considered among the most disturbing elements of his collection, which reportedly spans over eight hours of footage. The severity of these offences is compounded by the fact that Sierp also admitted to creating videos involving children, with levels four and five of the content being classified as extremely extreme and disturbing.

On January 2014, Sierp appeared before Folkestone magistrates court, where he faced a total of 12 charges related to the possession and production of obscene material. The charges stemmed from incidents that took place starting from May 30 of the previous year. During the court proceedings, Sierp, who was born in Ashford, appeared silent and composed as the charges were read aloud. His Twitter biography, which states “I am a black star shining bightly (sic),” was noted but did little to mitigate the gravity of his actions.

In a plea of guilty, Sierp admitted to all charges, including the creation of more than eight hours of highly disturbing videos involving children, with the most extreme levels of content. His defense lawyer, Alan Land, requested that Sierp be transferred to Crown Court for sentencing, citing the seriousness of the offences.

Despite the severity of the crimes, Sierp was granted conditional bail, with strict conditions imposed upon his release. He is prohibited from having any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16 and is restricted from using the internet unless for work, educational purposes, or at a library. Additionally, he must disconnect any gaming consoles from the internet to prevent further access. The court also ordered that he must not have access to the internet at home or in any unmonitored environment.

Local reactions to the court’s decision have been overwhelmingly negative. Folkestone UKIP county councillor Hod Birkby expressed his outrage, stating, “Why has he been given bail? It’s staggering. It’s disgusting, especially in light of the child porn offences. He should have been remanded in custody in a secure environment.” Similarly, Charlie Elphicke, the Conservative MP for Dover and Deal, questioned the court’s judgment, saying, “Why on earth has this horrible little man been given bail? He should have been sent to prison to await sentence at Crown Court. Bail in this case is totally inappropriate. What was the court thinking of? I hope he is sent down for a very, very long time.”

The case continues as a date for Sierp’s appearance at Canterbury Crown Court is yet to be scheduled, but the community remains deeply disturbed by the nature of his crimes and the court’s decision to grant him bail pending sentencing.
