DANNY PATRICK AND HIS SHOCKING LETTERS IN WOLVERHAMPTON

A convicted sex offender named Danny Patrick from Wolverhampton has been sentenced to prison after orchestrating a series of disturbing and misogynistic communication with women through handwritten letters sent to their homes.

His actions have caused significant distress among the victims, prompting a thorough police investigation that ultimately led to his arrest and conviction.

Patrick, a 36-year-old known sexual offender, was already registered and under management by an official officer, with a sexual harm prevention order in place due to his criminal history.

Despite these restrictions, he engaged in an alarming pattern of surveillance and harassment targeting four unsuspecting women in Wolverhampton.

The disturbing campaign began with the first woman, who found a handwritten letter delivered to her front door on the morning of August 31 last year.

The letter contained explicit praise, with Patrick writing, "you are so sexy,” and included his mobile phone number, urging her to text him with her name and age.

Initially, the woman dismissed the letter, believing it was either a mistake or a prank.

However, two days later, she received a follow-up note that was even more explicit.

The letter read, “I want to s*** you,” and expressed eagerness to hear back, signing off as “your admirer.” The woman reviewed her Ring doorbell footage and identified an unknown man delivering the letter, which led her to report the incident to the police.

She was described by prosecutors as being distressed, with fears that Patrick might return to her home or watch her and her family.

A second victim, living on Finchfield’s Brantley Avenue, discovered an envelope in her hallway on November 17 last year.

Inside, she found a handwritten letter from Patrick, who described her as “sexy” and claimed to have had his eyes on her for some time.

The note also stated, “Nobody has to know me and you touched,” and included his mobile number.

The woman was frightened and anxious, worried about her safety and her ability to travel to and from work, which prompted her to contact the police.

She described feeling scared, anxious, nervous, and fearful of what could happen next.

The third woman received a handwritten letter on November 28, which was delivered in an envelope with a stamp but without a postage mark.

Her age was 18 at the time.

Like the previous letters, it contained similar content and requested her to text her name and age to reveal his identity.

Her mother, upon opening the note, tore it up in disgust.

The victim later stated that she felt uncomfortable and anxious at home since receiving the letter, and she had altered her routines and travel habits in fear of being watched.

The fourth woman encountered an identical situation on December 2 when she returned home around 3 pm and found a white envelope on her doorstep.

The envelope bore a stamp but no postage mark and was addressed generally to “the female occupier.” Inside was another letter similar in tone and content to the others, leaving her feeling scared, paranoid, and uncomfortable due to her belief that she was being monitored.

Following these incidents, police executed an arrest warrant at Patrick’s residence.

During questioning, he initially denied responsibility, claiming he rarely leaves his home, and refused to admit guilt when shown security footage of him at one of his victim’s homes.

Nevertheless, police tracked his mobile number to him and gathered enough evidence to charge him.

His criminal record is extensive, including six convictions with eight separate offences such as possessing indecent images of children, attempting to communicate sexually with a minor, and attempting to meet a girl under 16 following grooming conduct.

Patrick has previously appeared in court for breaches of his sex offender management orders and notification requirements.

During court proceedings, his defense lawyer, Thomas Duggan, acknowledged that the letters and messages could have caused considerable distress to the women.

Nevertheless, the judge, Judge Jonathan Gosling, emphasized the seriousness of the case, highlighting Patrick’s past criminal behavior as indicative of an unnatural interest in children.

The judge described the acts as "deeply concerning," noting the planning involved.

Patrick’s own mobile number, which facilitated police tracing, marked the crime as “deeply sinister and unpleasant.” The victims, who believed they were being watched by a sexual predator, were left terrified and uncertain about what might happen next.

In July, Patrick was sentenced to 20 months in prison and was also subjected to a 10-year restraining order, restricting any contact with his victims.

The case underscores the ongoing risks posed by individuals with a history of sexual offending who breach the conditions of their management orders and commit further offenses in surveillance and intimidation.
