SLOUGH OFFENDER JAILED FOR 22 YEARS AFTER BRUTAL RAPE AND ATTEMPTED MURDER
A ‘ruthless, predatory and dangerous man’ has been sentenced to 22 years in prison after choking a woman into unconsciousness, brutally raping her, and leaving her for dead.Damian Kazimierczak, 19, from Slough, Berkshire, was found guilty in July of one count of attempted murder and one count of rape following a trial at Reading Crown Court.
He was sentenced at the same court on a Friday to 22 years for attempted murder and ten years for rape, to be served concurrently, with an additional four-year extended licence.
Kazimierczak will also be on the Sex Offender Register for life.
The attack happened between 2am and 3am on December 28 last year in Salt Hill Park in Slough, where he assaulted a 36-year-old woman.
The victim sustained serious facial and neck injuries requiring hospital treatment and surgeries.
She remained in hospital for several days.
Senior investigating officer Det Supt Kevin Brown described the attack as vicious, stating that Kazimierczak beat the woman about the face, strangled her with such force that he broke a bone in her neck, and raped her while she was unconscious before leaving her for dead.
The victim has since suffered severe injuries and mental scars that cannot be healed.
Kazimierczak was not known to police in the UK or Poland.
He was arrested on January 9 and charged on January 10.
He maintained the attack was caused by another unknown individual, but forensic evidence—such as blood found on his shoes—proved his involvement.
The police secured evidence from CCTV footage and found clothing with the victim's blood in his home.
Adrian Foster, Chief Crown Prosecutor, described the case as a planned, targeted, and violent stranger rape, emphasizing that Kazimierczak is a ruthless, predatory, and dangerous individual.
The physical injuries included a broken jaw, broken nose, fractured hyoid (neck bone), and extensive bruising.
The victim’s courage was commended by prosecutors, and the case was successfully prosecuted due to her support.
The court's decision aims to provide some degree of justice and closure for the victim, whose ordeal involved a brutal assault that left her severely injured and emotionally scarred.
