TEACHER BANNED AFTER SENDING SEXUAL MESSAGES TO FAKE 13-YEAR-OLDS
A teacher at a Birmingham primary school has been permanently barred from the teaching profession after sending sexually explicit texts to undercover police officers posing as 13-year-old girls.Dale Millar-Evans, aged 35, engaged in conversations with two officers, referring to one as child A with terms like “babe” and expressing intent to meet her, a disciplinary panel has established.
The messaging continued even after he found out the girls’ ages.
During the misconduct hearing, it was disclosed that Mr Millar-Evans contacted one of the officers, who was pretending to be child A, and apologized on July 11, 2023, for not realizing her youth, while still maintaining contact for over a week afterwards.
At the time, Mr Millar-Evans was 33.
He admitted to requesting photographs from both undercover officers and asked about their sexual experiences, in particular querying child B: “Have you had any experience with boys?” She replied: “A bit at parties lol.” He further questioned her, “What have you done?” and noted, “Least you have some experience then,” after her response.
He insisted that his messages were not sexual but aimed at confirming identities and avoiding interactions with “a bot or a 50-year-old man,” the panel was told.
The teacher, who began working at Bells Farm Primary School in Birmingham in September 2022, maintained that calling someone “babe” was not meant to be sexual, and suggested his questions about her experiences were for providing guidance and support.
However, the disciplinary panel found his communications to be flirtatious and concluded his actions were driven by a desire for sexual gratification or a sexual relationship.
By September 2023, Mr Millar-Evans was suspended from his duties following the school’s notification of police investigations.
The school launched its own internal inquiry in January 2024, and he resigned two months later.
On Tuesday, the decision-maker Sarah Buxcey, acting on behalf of the Education Secretary, issued an indefinite prohibition order against Mr Millar-Evans from teaching, citing breaches of professional and safeguarding standards.
