CURTIS ROBINSON JAILED IN HUNTINGDON FOR ONLINE ASSAULT ON YOUNG GIRL

In March 2014, Curtis Robinson, a 24-year-old man from Huntingdon, was sentenced to prison for pretending to be a teenage boy online to manipulate a 14-year-old girl into sending nude photographs. Robinson created a fake identity claiming to be 17 on a chat website and gradually convinced the girl to send explicit images. When she threatened to share the images publicly, the girl reported him to the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.

Following a police raid at Robinson’s residence on Snowdonia Way, authorities found indecent images on his computer and mobile device. During the court proceedings at Peterborough Crown Court, Robinson was sentenced to two and a half years in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender.

He previously admitted to charges including inciting a child to engage in pornography, possession of indecent images, and distribution of such images. Det Con Gareth Purdy commented, “Robinson befriended this young girl online. He was fully aware of her age and tried to take advantage of her vulnerability. Thankfully the victim reported him to the chat site. We would always encourage parents to notify police if they suspect their child has been contacted by older people online.”
