CONROY LLOYD FROM CROYDON JAILED FOR HORRIFIC ABUSE OF YOUNG GIRL IN HORLEY

In March 2017, a heartbreaking case emerged involving the abuse of a young girl from Horley, which has left a lasting scar on her family.

The perpetrator, Conroy Lloyd, aged 46 and originally from Black River, Jamaica, was convicted of heinous crimes committed against a seven-year-old girl in Horley, Surrey.

Lloyd was found guilty of two counts of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.

His sentencing took place at Croydon Crown Court last Thursday, March 23, where he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Additionally, Lloyd will be registered on the sex offenders register for life, a measure that underscores the severity of his crimes.

During the emotional court proceedings, the mother of the young girl, who cannot be publicly identified due to legal restrictions, shared her profound anguish and the enduring trauma inflicted upon her family.

She expressed that while Lloyd will serve his prison sentence, the emotional and psychological scars borne by her daughter and herself are irreversible.

"This will be with us forever," she stated.

"What happened will never leave her, and it will never leave me." She described Lloyd as a 'sick' individual, emphasizing her horror at his actions.

"He is just sick, it’s horrific and disgusting.

I don’t understand how anyone can do that, to see a girl of seven and think those thoughts.

And what he did – it makes me sick just thinking about it." It was revealed that Lloyd manipulated and coerced his young victim, exploiting her innocence by bribing her with the promise of cartoons and demanding that her abuse remain a secret between them.

The girl, who was only seven at the time, did not fully comprehend the nature of Lloyd’s actions but instinctively knew that what was happening was wrong.

Her mother recounted that in 2015, the girl, then still very young, warned a playmate not to be alone with Lloyd if asked, because he would "make you do things." This warning was a pivotal moment, as it was the first indication to her mother that something was amiss.

When she learned that Lloyd, who was residing in New Addington, Croydon, had exploited her daughter’s innocence, her mother’s reaction was one of intense anger and despair.

"I wanted to kill him," she admitted.

"I lost it, I trashed the house, I felt sick with anger.

We called the police, which was the right thing to do, but I wanted to kill him.

My daughter told me what happened, how he would make her do things." Her daughter, now nine years old, has had to revisit the traumatic memories during court proceedings.

The impact of the abuse has profoundly affected her behavior and trust.

She now distrusts strangers, especially men, wets the bed, and exhibits mood swings, withdrawal, and nightmares.

Her mother explained, "Speaking for the court case brought it all back I think.

There are memories still in there that haven’t come out, and I find it difficult to hear them when she tells me things about what he did.

I feel she’s almost protecting me by not telling me everything." The mother’s mental health has also suffered greatly.

She described battling depression, severe anxiety, and paranoia, which worsened after discovering her daughter’s abuse.

She revealed that she even miscarried following the distressing revelations.

"I think I hear a noise and I get terrified," she said.

"I’m too afraid to go to sleep, I get very protective.

I’ve been prescribed anti-depressants, and it has ruined my mental health." Her trust in others has been shattered, and she now keeps her family isolated from outsiders.

"And any trust I had in people is completely gone.

No man gets near my family now, even old friends.

There is no trust anymore." Her daughter’s fears extend into her future, with her expressing a desire to avoid relationships and men altogether.

The mother emphasized the importance of her daughter feeling safe and comfortable, stating, "It’s just us." Despite Lloyd’s incarceration, the pain inflicted remains raw.

The mother reflected, "I feel nothing now that he has been sentenced.

Part of me wishes for so much more, as a mother.

You want him to be punished for what he did.

It’s not nice, you’re not supposed to say it, but what he did was sick.

These people are broken, wrong in the head." The case highlights the devastating impact of child abuse and the long-lasting scars it leaves on victims and their families.
