LIVINGSTON MAN BANNED FROM OWNING ANIMALS AFTER HORRENDOUS DOG NEGLECT
A man from Livingston has been prohibited from owning, caring for, or keeping animals for a period of five years after admitting to keeping three dogs in appalling conditions without access to food or water.Connor Stewart was sentenced on 15 July at Livingston Sheriff Court after pleading guilty to violating animal welfare laws.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £200.
Scottish SPCA inspectors visited Stewart’s home in December 2023 following concerns about the welfare of the dogs in his care.
They discovered Ammo was underweight, with ribs and hips clearly visible, and the property was in a filthy state, soaked in urine and feces, with broken furniture and electric shock collars present.
During the removal process, Stewart fled with two Dobermans, Ammo and Karma, but a deprivation order was issued for these animals.
Another dog, Kya, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, showing a strong smell of urine and feces and drinking excessively.
The Scottish SPCA Inspector condemned Stewart’s actions, describing them as unacceptable and emphasizing that animal neglect will not be tolerated in Scotland.
