COLIN REBECCA DARLINGTON AND MOULTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN MILTON KEYNES AND WELLINGBOROUGH
In a series of disturbing criminal cases, two men and a woman have been convicted and sentenced to lengthy prison terms for their involvement in the sexual abuse of children across Milton Keynes and Wellingborough. The proceedings, which culminated in a seven-day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court, revealed a pattern of heinous offenses committed over a span of years, primarily during the 1990s and early 2000s.Colin Darlington, aged 52 and residing on Melick Road in Beanhill, Milton Keynes, was handed a significant sentence of 10 years’ imprisonment for multiple serious charges. These included four counts of rape and three counts of indecent assault. This sentence is to be served consecutively on top of a previous 20-year custodial sentence he received in November of the previous year for similar offenses, highlighting a long history of criminal behavior. The court heard that the crimes involved children who were subjected to rape and indecent assaults, with some incidents involving his wife, Rebecca Darlington, who was also present during certain offenses and actively participated.
Rebecca Darlington, aged 46 and also of the same address in Beanhill, Milton Keynes, was sentenced to eight years in prison after being convicted of two counts of indecent assault. Her involvement in the abuse was confirmed during the trial, which uncovered her participation in some of the criminal acts committed against the young victims.
Another individual, David Moulton, of Kentmere Road in Bolton, was sentenced to four years’ imprisonment after being found guilty of a single count of indecent assault. He was acquitted of an additional count of indecent assault, but his conviction still underscores his role in the abuse network. Moulton’s offenses involved a child under the age of 10, marking a particularly disturbing aspect of the case.
The crimes attributed to these defendants took place over a span of years, with the victims being children during their early adolescence. The court proceedings revealed that Colin Darlington was responsible for multiple rapes and assaults, with Rebecca Darlington actively participating in some of these acts. The allegations against Moulton involved a young child, further emphasizing the severity of the case.
The convictions were secured on Monday at Aylesbury Crown Court, following a detailed investigation into the allegations that had been initially reported on December 30, 2014. The court’s verdict reflects the seriousness with which the justice system treats crimes of this nature, especially those involving vulnerable children. The sentences handed down serve as a stark reminder of the importance of protecting minors from exploitation and abuse, and the court’s recognition of the victims’ suffering was evident in the remarks made by His Honour Judge Cole during sentencing, where he described Colin Darlington as a “ruthless, determined paedophile.”
