Febuary 2003 Man jailed for net porn charges A former traffic warden who downloaded pictures of children on to his grandchildren’s computer has been jailed for two years. Clive Alexander, 54, from Hill Crescent, in Brigham, near Cockermouth, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to seven child pornography charges. Alexander also asked for 99 other charges to be taken in to consideration when he appeared in court on Friday. The court heard the pictures were discovered when Alexander took his computer to a Maryport repair shop. Some included children as young as three and others involved moving video clips. The court was told that former army sergeant Alexander – who sought active service in the Falklands – was a “broken man”. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years and banded from working with children.
