CHRISTOPHER SCHUSTER FROM NOTTINGHAM JAILED FOR SEX OFFENSES INVOLVING TEENAGE GIRLS IN MANSFIELD
In July 2012, a disturbing case emerged involving Christopher Schuster, a young man from Nottingham, who was convicted of engaging in predatory sexual activities with underage girls in the Mansfield area. The court heard that Schuster, then aged 20, exploited the anonymity of the internet to establish contact with teenage girls, some as young as 14, with the intent of fulfilling his sexual desires.Schuster’s criminal behavior included having sexual intercourse with two girls aged 14 and 15. Additionally, he engaged in sexual activity via webcam with another 14-year-old girl, further demonstrating his predatory tendencies. The court was informed that he had met the first 14-year-old girl in person at a tent located near the reservoir close to King’s Mill Hospital, where the illicit encounter took place.
Further compounding his crimes, a fourth girl, aged 15 and residing in Nottingham, became pregnant by Schuster and subsequently gave birth to his child. This revelation underscored the serious and lasting impact of his actions on the victims involved.
Judge Tony Mitchell, presiding over the case at Nottingham Crown Court, delivered a stern condemnation of Schuster’s conduct. Addressing him directly, the judge stated, “You couldn’t even be bothered to use a condom. You used these children as sex objects and did not care what the consequences were.” The judge emphasized the gravity of Schuster’s actions, describing him as “a very dangerous person” at the present time.
Schuster faced multiple charges, including eight counts related to sexual activity with minors under the age of 16 and engaging in sexual activities over the internet. The court was told that Schuster’s age ranged from 17 to 19 during the period of these offenses, with the age gap between him and the victims varying from two to over four years.
In his defense, Gordon Aspden, representing Schuster, highlighted that his client was of previously good character, but also noted that he had limited intelligence and was immature. Despite this, the judge was unequivocal in condemning Schuster’s misuse of the internet and his predatory behavior. “You have grossly abused the internet. You met up with children and flattered them so you could have intercourse with them. You took away their innocence. They were not old enough to consent,” the judge remarked.
As a result of his convictions, Schuster was sentenced to a term of six years and ten months in prison. Upon release, which is typically after serving half of the sentence, he will be subject to an extended six-year license period. Additionally, he will be registered as a sex offender for life, disqualified from ever working with children, and subject to a sexual offender prevention order, ensuring ongoing restrictions and monitoring to protect the community from further harm.
