CHRISTOPHER NOYLE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT ON CHILD IN WESTON-SUPER-MARE AND KIDDERMINSTER

In a case that has sent shockwaves through the communities of Kidderminster and Weston-super-Mare, Christopher Noyle, a 51-year-old man, has been formally sentenced for the heinous sexual assault of a young girl. The incident, which took place over a period spanning several years, culminated in a conviction that has left a lasting impact on the victim and her family.

Christopher Noyle, who now resides on Sand Farm Lane in Weston-super-Mare, was brought before Wolverhampton Crown Court to face justice for his actions. The court proceedings revealed a disturbing pattern of abuse, with Noyle being found guilty on four separate charges following a jury trial at Worcester Crown Court in July. The jury, composed of ten men and two women, unanimously agreed on his guilt, marking a significant moment in the case.

During the sentencing hearing held on September 2, 2016, Noyle maintained a plea of not guilty, despite the overwhelming evidence against him. The court heard that he was convicted of two counts of sexual assault against a child under the age of 13, for which he received a sentence of five years each. Additionally, he was found guilty of two counts of causing a child to engage in sexual activity, which resulted in a further six-and-a-half-year sentence for each count. The judge, Nicolas Cartwright, described Noyle as a “manipulative” individual who exploited his position of trust for his own sexual gratification.

Judge Cartwright emphasized the severity of Noyle’s breach of trust, condemning his actions as a gross violation that has profoundly affected the young victim. He highlighted the emotional and psychological toll inflicted upon the girl, who is now only seven years old. A statement read out by prosecutor Jennifer Josephs, from the girl’s mother, detailed the devastating impact of the abuse. The mother explained that her daughter has developed significant trust issues with people since the abuse began, which started in 2013 and persisted until February of this year. The girl reportedly wets herself whenever Noyle’s name is mentioned, a clear sign of her trauma.

The victim’s mother also disclosed that her daughter has exhibited suicidal tendencies and has made concerning comments about her own life, illustrating the deep scars left by the abuse. Addressing Noyle directly, Judge Cartwright condemned his lack of remorse, noting that when the girl initially disclosed her abuse, Noyle dismissed her as a liar and showed no regret. The judge remarked that Noyle’s actions have not only destroyed the family unit but have also caused the girl to become challenging, confrontational, and emotionally distressed. Her trust issues have led her to believe that everyone hates her, and her mental health has been severely affected.

In his defense, Amy Jacobs, representing Noyle, stated that her client had recently taken time off work due to stress and depression. She also pointed out that Noyle has no prior convictions and is considered to have been of “previous good character.” Despite this, the court ordered that Noyle serve his sentences concurrently, meaning he will spend a total of six-and-a-half years in prison for his crimes. The case has left a lasting scar on the community, highlighting the importance of vigilance and justice in protecting vulnerable children from such predatory behavior.
