Online paedophile hunters apprehended Christopher Mullins, aged 44, after he engaged in highly sexualized conversations with a decoy posing as a 14-year-old girl.
During a series of explicit exchanges, Mullins encouraged her to ask sexual questions despite being aware of her age.
He added her on Facebook on February 9, 2023, and later transitioned the conversation to WhatsApp, where he shared personal information and discussed sexual activities.
Mullins admitted to watching pornography and urged the girl to do the same.
He was taken into custody on September 3, 2023, and pleaded guilty to charges of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual communication.
Mullins has a criminal record with 11 prior convictions, none related to sexual offenses.
He received a suspended sentence of two and a half years, along with probation and rehabilitation measures.
Additionally, he was ordered to register as a sex offender for 10 years and to adhere to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
