CHRISTOPHER KING SENTENCED IN NORTHAMPTON FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES INVOLVING YOUNG BOY
In a disturbing case that has shocked the Northampton community, child molester Christopher King was sentenced to prison for heinous sexual offenses committed against a young boy during the late 1980s.The incident, which took place between 1986 and 1988, involved King, a van driver residing on Clinton Road in Far Cotton, Northampton, coercing a seven-year-old boy into performing sexual acts on him.
The young victim, now 23 years old, only decided to come forward and report the abuse after reading about King’s previous convictions for similar offenses in the Chronicle & Echo newspaper.
King’s actions were particularly depraved, as he would take the boy from his bedroom into the bathroom, where he subjected him to repeated acts of sexual abuse.
Throughout this period, King maintained a threatening demeanor, warning the child that he would kill him if he ever disclosed what was happening.
This pattern of intimidation and abuse persisted for a year, leaving the young boy traumatized and silenced for many years.
The case was brought before Leicester Crown Court, where Judge Richard Bray presided over the sentencing.
During the proceedings, the judge acknowledged that although these crimes occurred many years ago, King’s criminal record and the severity of his offenses indicated a significant risk to public safety, especially to vulnerable children.
Despite King’s denial of the allegations, claiming that the accusations were fabricated due to bad dreams, the evidence and victim testimony proved otherwise.
The victim’s decision to speak out was prompted by reading about King’s earlier conviction for similar offenses in the local newspaper last year.
It was revealed that King had also admitted to possessing and distributing inappropriate photographs of children.
His criminal history includes previous convictions for sex crimes, including engaging in sexual activity with an underage girl.
At the sentencing hearing, Judge Bray sentenced King to three and a half years in prison.
The court ordered that he serve two years for the charge of indecent assault, with an additional 18 months to be served consecutively for gross indecency.
The judge emphasized the importance of protecting the community from individuals like King, especially given his history and the nature of his crimes, which continue to pose a threat to children and the public at large.
