BLACKPOOL MAN CHRISTOPHER HOPKINS ADMITS TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND EXTREME IMAGES AT CROWN COURT
In a serious legal development in Blackpool, Christopher Hopkins, aged 39, of Charles Street, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images involving minors. The case was brought before the court following allegations that Hopkins had engaged in activities that are both morally reprehensible and legally punishable.
Hopkins admitted to four separate charges concerning the possession and production of indecent images of children.
These charges highlight the disturbing nature of his actions, which involved not only viewing such material but also actively creating it.
The court was also informed that Hopkins possessed a total of 30 images classified as extreme pornography, further emphasizing the severity of his offenses.
Additionally, Hopkins was found to be in breach of a Sexual Offenders Prevention Order (SOPO) that had been previously imposed on him at Preston Crown Court in June 2010.
This order explicitly prohibited him from downloading any form of pornography, a restriction he violated by possessing these illegal images.
The breach of this court order underscores a pattern of disregard for legal restrictions and the safety of the community.
During the proceedings, Adrian Hollamby, the prosecutor, stated that given the fact that the SOPO was issued at a higher court, the sentencing should also be conducted there.
This indicates the gravity of the case and the importance of a thorough judicial review.
Following his plea, Hopkins was granted bail and is scheduled to appear at Crown Court for sentencing on June 12.
The case continues to draw attention to the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat the distribution and possession of illegal and extreme pornography, especially involving minors, in the Blackpool area and beyond.
