Christopher Blakemore Domestic Abuser in Middlesbrough

A violent assault occurred when Christopher Blakemore launched a relentless two-minute attack on the mother of his child, stabbing her 31 times with a kitchen knife.

In May, Blakemore received a 24-year prison sentence following an incident triggered by his anger over discovering a condom wrapper in the bathroom bin of his ex-partner’s residence.

She had requested his help to care for their sick son while she went to work.

On October 13, 2019, Blakemore, then 34 years old, arrived unannounced at his ex-girlfriend’s house in Stockton.

The 6ft 6ins man from Middlesbrough initially inquired about borrowing money but then forcefully entered through the back door, armed himself with a chopping knife, and assaulted her repeatedly.

The woman sustained multiple stab wounds across her body, including through her wrist, which impaired her breathing.

She managed to barricade herself and her son in the bathroom before calling emergency services.

She was subsequently transported to James Cook Hospital with a collapsed lung.

Following the attack, Blakemore was issued an indefinite restraining order and remains subject to legal restrictions.
