CHARLES GREGORY FROM SITTINGBOURNE SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES INVOLVING CHILD VICTIM

In December 2012, a disturbing case emerged involving Charles Gregory, a resident of Sittingbourne, who was apprehended following a series of alarming phone calls and voicemails. These messages inadvertently revealed that Gregory was engaging in abusive behavior towards a seven-year-old girl. The situation escalated when Gregory mistakenly called the mother of the young girl, and during the call, the mother overheard the disturbing content of the messages. Recognizing the severity of the situation, she promptly contacted law enforcement authorities to report her concerns.

Investigations quickly followed, uncovering evidence of Gregory’s criminal activities. Police discovered that Gregory had installed a hidden camera, which he used to commit voyeurism and sexual assault. The evidence collected included the camera itself, which was seized during the investigation, and other related materials that confirmed his illicit actions.

Charles Gregory faced multiple charges, including sexual assault and voyeurism, which led to a court trial where he was found guilty of these serious offences. The court sentenced Gregory to a term of ten years in prison. However, under the terms of his sentence, he is expected to serve at least two-thirds of that period before being eligible for parole or release. Additionally, Gregory was placed on the sex offenders register, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities and restrictions to protect the community from further harm.
