ROBERT GRAVE SENTENCED IN SITTINGBOURNE FOR CHILD INDECENT IMAGE OFFENSES
In March 2015, a court in Sittingbourne delivered a severe sentence to Robert Grave, a man found guilty of possessing indecent images of children. The court sentenced him to 18 months in prison for his actions. During the proceedings, Grave attempted to shift the blame onto his identical twin brother, claiming that it was his sibling who was responsible for the material discovered on his computer. However, this defense was firmly rejected by the judge, who dismissed the claim as unfounded.Throughout the trial, Grave maintained his innocence, denying all charges brought against him. The evidence against him included disturbing images, notably one depicting a young girl in sexual poses with a dog. The court also noted the presence of files with disturbing references to young children, such as those titled 'Paedo collection 2012'. These files indicated a disturbing pattern of material that the court described as 'particularly unpleasant.'
In addition to the prison sentence, the judge imposed strict measures to prevent future offenses. Grave was ordered to register on the sex offenders' register for a period of ten years. Furthermore, a sexual harm prevention order was issued against him, restricting his activities and contact to safeguard the community from potential harm. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the judiciary to combat the possession and distribution of child exploitation material, emphasizing the serious consequences faced by offenders like Robert Grave in Sittingbourne.
