DEVON PAEDOPHILE SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEX ATTACKS, DIES SHORTLY AFTER

A Devon paedophile known as Carl Forrester has died shortly after being sentenced to prison for serious sexual offenses. He was convicted of sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl at her home while she was sleeping, and his crimes were described as 'horrific' by the judge. During a court hearing, Forrester was branded 'evil' and 'manipulative'. He had previously been on the run to America before being tracked down and extradited back to the UK. The Court was informed that at the time of his sentencing, Forrester, aged 71, had terminal cancer and was expected to die within weeks. He was subsequently sent to HMP Exeter, where he died on November 13 due to metastatic renal carcinoma. An inquest later confirmed he died from kidney cancer that had spread to other parts of his body, with no suspicious circumstances. Judge Stephen Climie jailed Forrester for 15 years plus a six-year extension for dangerousness, highlighting the severity of his actions and the need to protect the public. The victim's bravery was commended by police and the court. Forrester’s criminal history includes previous convictions for sexual activity with a child and making indecent images, including 49 images with 6 being category A. Police also discovered he had been searching the dark web for child abuse material. His crimes involved multiple offenses, including sexual assaults and possession of indecent images. He initially denied the charges, which were scheduled for trial, but pleaded guilty after being extradited to the UK. The case was characterized by the court as involving 'horrific' crimes, and it was emphasized that he showed no remorse.
