CALLUM SELLERS AND SHOCKING SEXUAL BLACKMAIL IN BRADFORD

A man named Callum Sellers has been sentenced to seven years in prison after orchestrating a disturbing campaign of blackmail and exploitation involving young girls in Bradford.

The court was informed that Sellers, aged 21 and formerly residing in West Bowling, Bradford, engaged in heinous acts by coercing young females into sending him sexually explicit photographs and videos under threats and intimidation.

In one particular case, Sellers posed as a 17-year-old railway enthusiast and photographer from Yorkshire to gain the trust of a 15-year-old girl from a different area of the country.

Persuading her to send topless images, he then demanded more, threatening to distribute the images to her mother if she refused.

According to prosecutor Nick Adlington, Sellers continued to pester the teenager, pressuring her to perform sexual acts on video and sending her messages like, “Tick-tock, hurry up,” and “how badly do you want the pics deleted?” These messages left her in tears, shaking, and feeling profoundly degraded.

The girl confided in a friend about her ordeal, which led to her mother and a teacher being notified of the disturbing situation.

Police investigations revealed that Sellers, now in HMP Leeds, possessed over 1,600 indecent images of children stored on his phones at the time of his arrest in November of the previous year.

He pleaded guilty to a total of 24 charges including possession of indecent images classified as Categories A, B, and C, incitement or attempts to incite children into sexual activities, and making unwarranted demands for sexual images and videos using threats.

Investigators uncovered a pattern of threatening messages directed at Sellers’ victims, which included chilling statements such as, “let me see you or else,” and “Do as I say or I’ll post it because I know your Facebook.” His phones contained hundreds of indecent images depicting girls from various parts of the country.

While some images could be traced to specific victims, others remained unaccounted for, leaving authorities with incomplete information.

One of the victims, a 15-year-old girl, gave a victim impact statement revealing the lasting emotional scars.

She said, “I still feel rubbish,” and shared that she has experienced panic attacks and nightmares.

She also expressed feelings of guilt, stating, “I feel guilty like it’s my fault and I shouldn’t have been so stupid.” During court proceedings, Sellers’ legal representative, Victoria Smith-Swain, highlighted that her client was of previously good character, having only recently turned 20 at the time his offending began.

She described him as someone with interests in photography and railway engines, traits associated with autism, including highly restricted interests.

She explained that Sellers often felt lonely outside his work at a warehouse, and that he engaged with girls over Snapchat, developing an obsessive interest in them, which he claimed helped him cope with depression.

Sellers expressed remorse by sending a letter to his victims, acknowledging that his behavior was “degrading and debilitating” for them.

The court noted that since March, while on remand, Sellers had been employed as a painter in prison.

In addressing the severity of Sellers’ actions, Judge Richard Mansell QC, the Recorder of Bradford, emphasized that Sellers had groomed, pestered, and intimidated a 15-year-old girl into sending explicit videos.

The girl demonstrated presence of mind by capturing screenshots of the threatening messages and providing them to the police.

Authorities found 92 images of young girls on Sellers’ phones, some of which were linked to identified victims contacted by law enforcement.

The judge pointed out that Sellers had sent threatening messages to some victims, including, “ignoring me now?” and demands for more explicit images.

Tragically, two of the girls targeted by Sellers were only 13 years old at the time.

Victims’ statements conveyed the profound impact of Sellers’ harassment—for example, a girl pleaded, “OMG delete it.

You said you’d leave me alone,” while another sought help by stating, “Stop, please, you’re ruining my life completely.” Judge Mansell warned that Sellers’ relentless demands and threats could have led victims to self-harm or even contemplate suicide due to the significant psychological harm inflicted.

While acknowledging that Sellers was very immature at 20 and had faced developmental challenges in childhood, the judge described his obsession with the images as “addiction-like.” The court responded by imposing an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and ordered Sellers to be registered as a sex offender indefinitely.

Additionally, a restraining order was issued to prevent any future contact with the victims, with the judge urging Sellers to reflect profoundly on the damage he had caused to these young girls.
