DUNFERMLINE MAN CALLUM MCALLISTER ABUSES PARTNER IN HORRIFIC INCIDENTS

A disturbing case of prolonged domestic abuse has come to light involving Callum McAllister, a 40-year-old resident of Beveridge Street in Dunfermline. Over the course of more than a year, McAllister subjected his former partner to a series of violent and degrading acts that have left a lasting impact.

According to court proceedings, McAllister was found guilty of physically assaulting his partner, which included knocking her to the ground, dragging her by her hair, repeatedly punching her, and squeezing her jaw in a display of aggressive and controlling behavior. These acts of violence took place between March 2020 and July 2021, a period during which the victim endured ongoing abuse.

The case was brought before Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where McAllister admitted to engaging in a pattern of abusive conduct. His admission came during a trial following the testimony of his former partner, who provided detailed evidence of the suffering she endured. The court heard that the abuse was not an isolated incident but part of a sustained campaign of violence and intimidation.

Sheriff Susan Duff, presiding over the case, acknowledged McAllister’s prior criminal record, which includes two previous convictions related to domestic offenses. Although a reference to the woman being pregnant at the time of the assault was removed from the official charge by the Crown, the sheriff confirmed that the victim was indeed pregnant during the incident, and a child was present at the time.

In her sentencing, Sheriff Duff emphasized the seriousness of the offenses, highlighting the impact on the victim and the need for appropriate punishment. McAllister was sentenced to a community payback order requiring him to complete 300 hours of unpaid work. Additionally, he was subjected to a nine-month restriction of liberty order, limiting his movements and freedoms. As part of his rehabilitation, he will also participate in the Caledonian Men’s Programme, which is designed to address domestic offenders and prevent future violence.

Furthermore, McAllister was ordered to pay £1500 in compensation to his former partner, acknowledging the harm caused during the abusive period. The court’s decision reflects a firm stance against domestic violence and underscores the importance of holding offenders accountable for their actions.
