BRADFORD MAN SENTENCED TO 2 YEARS FOR VIOLENT HOSPITAL RAMPAGE AND DOMESTIC ABUSE
A man identified as Callum Hood has been sentenced to 24 months in prison after being found guilty of multiple offences including violence, domestic abuse, and assault on emergency workers.Hood's criminal record includes 20 prior convictions with 46 offences such as assaults, property damage, burglary, and robbery.
His recent conduct involved aggressive behavior at Darlington Memorial Hospital on May 23, where police and security staff intervened as he assaulted security personnel and was violent towards officers.
During the incident, Hood refused to cooperate, lashed out, and banged his head against a police van, even telling officers, “Welcome to Bradford.” The police also learned from a woman he was with that Hood had subjected her to four months of controlling and violent behavior, including grabbing her by the throat and damaging her home.
Hood's recent crimes also include damaging property and assaulting emergency workers, which led to his current sentence.
The court heard that Hood's issues trace back to behavioral problems since childhood, worsened by alcohol and drug use.
The judge, Nathan Adams, imposed the 24-month sentence and a ten-year restraining order preventing any contact with his ex-partner.
Hood has expressed remorse and acknowledged his actions, and the court emphasized his thrill-seeking behavior during confrontations with police and hospital staff.
