PENSIONER IN COURT ACCUSED OF SEXUALLY ABUSING CHILD IN RAMSGATE AND NORTHAMPTON
A pensioner, Brian Skipper, aged 76, has appeared in court accused of sexually abusing a child more than ten years ago.
During the hearing at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court, he was supported by his wife.
Skipper has been charged with 11 offences, including six counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13 by penetration and three counts of inciting a girl under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Additionally, he faces two counts of intentionally touching a girl under 13 in a sexual manner.
These alleged offences occurred between April 2009 and April 2015 in Ramsgate and Northampton.
During the court appearance, Skipper only confirmed his name, age, and address.
Prosecutor Neil Sweeney informed the court that the six charges of sexual assault by penetration can only be tried at the crown court as they are indictable offences.
The judge agreed and transferred all cases to Northampton Crown Court, with Skipper scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on November 11.
