Earlier during the hearing, Southall had already pleaded guilty to two counts of kidnapping and two counts of blackmail.
These charges stem from incidents that took place in Birmingham, where he was involved in coercive and threatening behavior aimed at extorting victims.
The court found his actions to be particularly egregious, leading to a substantial prison sentence.
In addition to these charges, Southall received further sentences for other criminal acts.
He was sentenced to 33 months for a robbery committed in Birmingham in 2020, an offense that involved the theft of property through force or threat.
Furthermore, he was given an additional three months for a theft that occurred in Birmingham in 2019, indicating a pattern of criminal behavior in the city.
Southall’s criminal record also includes more serious offenses committed in Leicestershire.
He was convicted of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, a charge that resulted in a 42-month sentence, reflecting the dangerous nature of drug trafficking activities.
Additionally, he was sentenced to six months for making indecent images of children, a crime that underscores the disturbing aspects of his criminal conduct.
As part of his sentencing, Southall was also placed on the sex offenders’ register for a period of seven years, a measure intended to monitor and manage his potential risk to the community.
All of his sentences are to be served consecutively, meaning he will spend a total of eleven years behind bars before being eligible for release.
These convictions and sentences serve as a stark reminder of the serious consequences faced by individuals involved in such heinous crimes, and they underscore the ongoing efforts of law enforcement and the judicial system to combat criminal activity in Birmingham and beyond.
