A disturbing case of online grooming and child abduction has culminated in the imprisonment of Brandon Mason, a 19-year-old from Birmingham, following his heinous actions involving a vulnerable schoolgirl from Flintshire, North Wales.

Brandon Mason was found guilty of multiple serious charges, including child abduction and the creation of 55 indecent images of his young victim.

The court heard that Mason had used the popular social media platform Snapchat to establish contact with the pre-teen girl, who is unable to be named for legal reasons.

According to court proceedings, Mason engaged in manipulative behavior, gradually grooming the girl by encouraging her to send him sexually explicit images.

His influence over her was so profound that he persuaded her to run away from her home in Flintshire, leading to a dangerous journey.

The girl and Mason traveled together by train, covering approximately 100 miles from North Wales to Birmingham, where their movements were eventually halted by police during a routine stop on a bus in September 2022.

During the hearing at Caernarfon Crown Court, the defense attorney, Patrick Williamson, emphasized that Mason had no prior criminal record.
