BRADLEY STEVENS SENTENCED TO EXTENDED PRISON TERM IN BRADFORD
A judge handed down a 10-year extended prison sentence to 27-year-old Bradley Stevens, a former resident of Brighouse, for a particularly brutal and sadistic assault on a woman.Stevens, who is now homeless, was sentenced to six years and three months at Bradford Crown Court on Friday for multiple offenses, including sexual assault and causing grievous bodily harm.
The court also decided that Stevens should be classified as a dangerous offender, adding an additional license period of three years and nine months.
It was revealed that Stevens has prior convictions for sexual offenses and robbery.
The court heard that he must serve at least two-thirds of his custodial sentence before being eligible for parole.
Recorder Benjamin Nolan QC described part of the assault, stating that during the attack, Stevens deliberately bent the victim's finger until it snapped—a move described as both callous and sadistic.
A pre-sentence report highlighted that Stevens poses an ongoing risk of serious harm to the public.
The report noted, 'He sees no harm in behaving inappropriately violently when he struggles to get what he wants.' During sentencing, Recorder Nolan emphasized the danger Stevens presents, declaring, 'I have no doubt whatsoever that there is in your case a significant risk to members of the public of serious harm.' As part of his sentence, Stevens is also required to register as a sex offender with police for the duration of his life.
