BRADLEY LULHAM: DANGEROUS SEX OFFENDER FROM HOLSWORTHY JAILED FOR CHILD ABUSE AND ILLEGAL IMAGES

A man identified as Bradley Lulham, a registered sex offender from Holsworthy, has been sentenced to prison after authorities uncovered his continued violations of the law and his involvement in viewing and possessing disturbing child abuse material.

Lulham, who is 30 years old and previously known by the surname Daines-Degroot, was convicted of raping two young boys at a caravan park in Dawlish approximately ten years ago. His prior conviction resulted in a sentence of seven and a half years in prison, and as part of his legal obligations, he was required to regularly update the police about his whereabouts.

Despite these legal requirements, Lulham failed to comply on two separate occasions. The police, acting on intelligence, traced him to a clandestine address where he had been living for the past seven months, all while he was officially registered as residing in Dawlish. The investigation was triggered when authorities discovered that Lulham had downloaded a video clip depicting child rape from his IP address. When police arrived at the secret location, they found him living there unlawfully.

During the search, officers also recovered numerous indecent images and videos of children on his mobile phone, including three particularly disturbing movies that depicted severe abuse of a boy under the age of five. It was revealed that Lulham had amassed over 300 images, some of which were extremely graphic and involved very young children.

The court heard that Lulham had been living in violation of the terms of his sex offender registration since 2021, when he moved back to his mother’s house in Dawlish without informing the authorities. He was also found to have been living with a vulnerable woman in Brixham in 2023, during which time he continued to download and possess illegal images.

Judge James Adkin presided over the case at Exeter Crown Court, where Lulham pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including twice failing to comply with the sex offenders’ register and three counts of possessing indecent images of children. The judge sentenced him to 16 months in prison, emphasizing the seriousness of his violations.

In his remarks, Judge Adkin highlighted the potential danger posed by Lulham’s actions, stating, “There was a long period of non-compliance and potential for harm because the police could not track a known sex offender. There were moving images portraying very young children. There is a serious and imminent risk of further image offences and a serious and imminent risk of further contact offences.”

The defense attorney, Mr. Martin Salloway, argued that Lulham is experiencing physical and mental health issues, suggesting that it would be more beneficial for him to receive support within the community rather than serve a lengthy prison sentence. However, the court prioritized public safety given the nature of his offenses and ongoing violations.
