BRADLEY JONES FROM NORTHAMPTON SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE CASE
In a serious case that has shocked the Northampton community, Bradley Jones, a 23-year-old man from Northampton, was sentenced to two years in prison after admitting to multiple child sex offences.The incident came to light after a lengthy investigation and court proceedings that revealed disturbing details about Jones's actions.
Jones appeared before Northampton Crown Court earlier this month to face sentencing.
The court was informed that he had established a relationship of trust with his young victim, who was only 12 years old at the time.
Over a period of time, Jones engaged in inappropriate and sexual touching of the girl, actions that were carried out against her will and without her consent.
The court heard that Jones had instructed the girl not to disclose his repeated abuse, effectively silencing her and prolonging the suffering.
It was only after two years that the victim, summoning the courage to speak out, finally disclosed the abuse to her family, which led to a formal report being made to Northamptonshire Police.
The case was subsequently investigated thoroughly, leading to charges against Jones.
Initially, during the early stages of the court proceedings, Jones denied the allegations.
However, on June 15 of this year, he changed his plea and admitted to four counts of sexual assault on a child under the age of 13.
This marked a significant turning point in the case, as the defendant finally accepted responsibility for his actions.
At the sentencing hearing held on July 20, Jones, who was formerly residing on Balmoral Road in Kingsthorpe, was sentenced to a total of 25 months in prison.
The court also noted that there were two additional charges—sexual assault of a child under 13 and sexual activity with a child—that would be kept on file, meaning they could be used in future proceedings if necessary.
In addition to his imprisonment, Jones was subjected to a 10-year sexual harm prevention order, a legal measure designed to prevent him from reoffending.
Furthermore, he will be registered on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade, ensuring ongoing monitoring of his activities to protect the community from potential future harm.
