BRUTAL MIDDLESBROUGH PET KILLER BETHAN LAWSON CONVICTED FOR HORRIFIC CRIME
Bethan Louise Lawson, formerly known as Bethan Whitehead, was born on November 29, 1989, and resides at Bristow Road in Middlesbrough, TS4 2QB. In a disturbing case that shocked the local community, Lawson was found guilty of conspiring with two unnamed minors to carry out a savage and inhumane killing of her pet kitten, Puss Puss.According to court records and investigations, Lawson, who was only a few years removed from a previous incident where she stole nearly £700 from her 103-year-old great-grandmother, orchestrated a cruel plan to end the life of her 10-week-old kitten. The horrific acts included attempting to drown Puss Puss, forcing him to ingest bleach, and ultimately breaking his neck. The brutality of the crime was compounded by the manner in which the kitten was disposed of afterward.
The crime was uncovered after an anonymous letter was sent to the RSPCA, revealing the details of Lawson’s involvement and the actions of her two teenage accomplices. The letter provided crucial information that led authorities to investigate the case thoroughly. It was during this investigation that the true extent of the cruelty was revealed.
When RSPCA Inspector Claire Wilson confronted Lawson, she was taken to a location in central Middlesbrough, specifically to a busy roundabout. There, at the center of the roundabout, Inspector Wilson discovered a shallow grave marked by a potato masher, which had been used to dig the burial site in September 2011. The grave contained the remains of Puss Puss, whose death was confirmed through a post-mortem examination.
The post-mortem report indicated that Puss Puss likely suffered a broken neck and bruising on his shoulder. The cause of death was determined to be drowning, although other injuries suggested additional trauma. The evidence painted a grim picture of the suffering endured by the innocent kitten, all under the instructions of Lawson.
During the court proceedings, Lawson was sentenced to twelve weeks in prison. Additionally, she was banned from owning or caring for any animals for a period of ten years, a ban that expired in July 2022. The case drew widespread condemnation from animal welfare advocates and the local community, highlighting the severity of animal cruelty and the importance of accountability for such heinous acts.
