BERNARD MORE SENTENCED IN OXFORD FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN PRINCES RISBOROUGH
A convicted paedophile named Bernard More, 57, engaged in heinous acts of sexual abuse against underage boys in his home in Princes Risborough.He secretly filmed his crimes using hidden spy cameras installed throughout his house, and later uploaded the footage onto the internet.
The videos bore titles suggesting their disturbing content, such as "teen boy spy cam" on a Russia-based adult website and "spy cam: hes at it again." His malicious activities were uncovered last year after Australian police discovered the videos online.
An investigation revealed that the uploader’s online username included More’s date of birth, leading authorities in Australia to alert Thames Valley Police.
Detectives from Oxford then identified More as the source of the material and moved to apprehend him.
On November 16, Oxford detectives interviewed the two younger victims, who are now teenagers and cannot be named for legal reasons.
The older two boys chose not to participate in the interview.
Following this, on December 1, police executed a search warrant at More’s property, seizing a Dell computer, 12 USB sticks, a memory card, and several home CCTV cameras that had been installed in various rooms, including the living room, bathroom, and bedrooms.
The devices contained thousands of videos and images, many of which depicted More sexually abusing four boys, the youngest of whom was only 11 when the abuse began.
In one disturbance, More referred to a 12-year-old victim as a "filthy pig" and encouraged him to perform a sex act on himself.
Prosecutor Charles Ward-Jackson told Oxford Crown Court that in one video, a boy told More he would upload a video to a popular pornography site, to which More responded affirmatively.
The court heard that the victims were coerced into performing sexual acts on themselves, each other, and More himself.
Some of the boys were given alcohol and appeared intoxicated in some footage, while others were shown asleep during the assaults.
In addition to the videos he recorded and uploaded, More possessed a collection of over 23,500 indecent images of children, including 513 classified as the most severe category.
Judge Maria Lamb sentenced More to 13 years and four months in prison.
She told him, "You were an utterly malign influence in their lives.
You used each of them for your own sexual gratification." The sentence was extended under an 'extended sentence' regime, meaning he will serve two-thirds of his term before parole considerations, and then an additional three years on license.
The judge emphasized that if More had not been caught, he would likely have continued his harmful behavior.
She warned that unless the risk he poses is addressed, he remains a danger to young boys.
More, of Cannon Place in Princes Risborough, had previously pleaded guilty to 33 charges, including sexual activity with a child, inciting a child to engage in sexual acts, and making, possessing, and distributing indecent images.
Defense lawyer David Jones acknowledged that there was little that could serve as mitigation, noting that More entered his plea early despite remaining silent during police interviews.
It was also stated that More was remorseful.
Judge Lamb ordered that More be placed on the sex offender register for life and subjected to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order restricting his contact with young boys.
Concluding the nearly two-hour hearing, the judge praised the police for their swift and thorough investigation that led to his conviction.
