DREW HARRISON JAILED FOR GROOMING AND SEXUAL ABUSE IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, DURHAM, AND LONDON
A man convicted of grooming and engaging in illegal sexual activity with a young girl over several months across Buckinghamshire, Durham, and London has been sentenced to prison.Drew Harrison, aged 41, of Oxford Road, Denham, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual activity with a child and one count of possession of extreme pornography during a court hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on 30 August 2024.
On Friday, 17 January, Harrison was sentenced to a total of nine years in prison and was issued an indefinite restraining order. He was also ordered to surrender a device containing extreme pornography and to pay court fees totaling £228.
Between November 2022 and April 2023, Harrison groomed his young victim in various locations within Durham, Buckinghamshire, and London. He engaged in sustained sexual activities with her, including both penetrative and non-penetrative acts, in a manner described by authorities as abhorrent.
The offences came to light after reports to Thames Valley Police on 8 April 2023, leading to Harrison’s arrest the next day. Following a thorough investigation, he was charged on 12 June 2024 and subsequently pleaded guilty.
Detective Constable Aimee Stein of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit at Aylesbury police station commented: “Harrison targeted and preyed on a vulnerable child over several months. I am pleased that this sentence has been handed down, bringing justice to her and her family.”
She added, “The coercion, abuse, and manipulation by Harrison have already had, and will continue to have, a profound impact on the victim’s life and her family. I want to commend the victim and witnesses for their bravery, which was instrumental in securing this conviction. Without their evidence, we could not have built such a strong case, leading to Harrison’s admission of guilt.”
Stein concluded, “Thames Valley Police remain dedicated to combating all forms of violence against women and girls. I hope this sentencing allows the victim to begin to recover and move forward.”
