BENJAMIN HOLMES FROM WOLVERHAMPTON SENTENCED TO 13 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX ABUSE IN WORCESTER
Benjamin Holmes, a 31-year-old resident of Wolverhampton, has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term of 13 years after being convicted of heinous sexual offenses involving a young girl.The case came to light when police officers discovered disturbing images on Holmes' mobile phone, which clearly depicted his abuse of a five-year-old girl.
These images served as crucial evidence during the trial, revealing the extent of his criminal conduct.
Holmes, who resides in Ravensholme, Wolverhampton, was brought before Worcester Crown Court on Thursday, June 6, where he faced charges of causing a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity.
The court found him guilty of these serious offenses, leading to his immediate sentencing.
In addition to his prison term, Holmes was subjected to a sexual harm prevention order, designed to restrict his contact with minors and prevent any further harm.
A restraining order was also issued to ensure the safety and well-being of his young victim.
During the proceedings, Det Con Louise Sutton, a member of Worcester CID, publicly commended the bravery of the young girl who had the courage to come forward and speak to the police despite her tender age.
She expressed her satisfaction with the outcome, stating, "We are pleased to get this lengthy sentence on behalf of the young victim who showed enormous courage to speak to us about this devious predator." Det Con Sutton emphasized the seriousness with which law enforcement treats sexual offenses, underscoring the importance of victims coming forward.
She added, "We take sexual offences of all kinds extremely seriously, and it takes a lot of bravery for those affected by these appalling crimes to report such matters.
We would always encourage people who are victims of these offences to approach police." She concluded by reassuring the public that police are committed to listening to victims and providing the necessary support to help them seek justice and rebuild their lives after such traumatic experiences.
