December 2018 Paedophile found with videos of snake and cow being sexually abused A paedophile has been jailed for having videos of a cow and snake being sexually penetrated, as well as over 400 images of sexual abuse of children. Ben Keeler, who has previous convictions for sexual offending, began another jail sentence today after police uncovered the vile images and videos. They found that he was part of a WhatsApp group on a contraband phone where extreme pornography videos were shared. The 30-year-old had his phone seized on March 31, 2017 while he was staying at a bail hostel. He was there serving an extended sentence for a string of previous offences including possession of child abuse images and sexual activity with a child. Keeler was found to have animal abuse videos on the phone which were downloaded from a dark web sharing site Prosecutors and the judge struggled to make sense of what these videos showed based on explanations provided by police investigators. Reading the evidence explanation as written by police to His Honour Judge Paul Dugdale, prosecutor Amanda Hamilton said: “This moving file shows a male adult with a cow performing [a sex act] on the adult.” Ms Hamilton revealed another video Keeler had watched while at his bail hostel in Straight Road, Old Windsor, Windsor, Berks., showed a male lying down with a snake on top of him and the man performing a sex act on it. Reading Crown Court heard Keeler had also possessed images showing men abusing children as young as three months old, and that Keeler had distributed images to a registered sex offender. With short dark hair and a dark grey jumper Keeler sat with his arms crossed throughout the proceedings. Judge Dugdale said that was clear as: “He doesn’t delete his history. You look at his phone, and it’s all there.” The court heard Keeler had tried to hide a USB containing further images inside washing powder. Sentencing, Judge Dugdale said: “Whatever happened to you, you are a damaged young man and you find things in life difficult. You have a lot of previous convictions for sexual offending which date to 2015 when you had a sentence for sexual activity with a child. “Anyone who has a movie of a three month old baby is in possession of something quite horrific and I am afraid that has to be marked with an appropriate sentence.” The judge sentenced Keeler to eight months imprisonment to begin immediately, and pointed out that he would continue serving an extended sentence until November 2022
