A teenage girl was praised for her bravery after assisting in the conviction of a man who had sexually assaulted her.
In Kirklees, specialized safeguarding personnel expressed their gratitude to the young survivor for her courage in coming forward.
This followed the sentencing of Aslam Masood, aged 51, at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, June 1.
Masood, a resident of the Lister Hills area in Bradford, was sentenced to 15 months in prison after pleading guilty to engaging in sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 17 years old.
The incident occurred in Kirklees on February 20, 2024, and was reported to authorities two days later by the victim.
Additionally, Masood was ordered to comply with a five-year sexual harm prevention order following his sentencing.
