MAN CONVICTED OF NUMEROUS SEXUAL CRIMES IN LEEDS HAS BEEN SENTENCED TO PRISON.
A man convicted of numerous sexual crimes in Leeds has been sentenced to prison.
Ashley Roberts, from Colliery Close in Allerton Bywater, received a 26 and a half year term at Leeds Crown Court last week after being found guilty of 14 separate offenses involving a woman who was a minor at their first meeting.
The 32-year-old was convicted in July following a trial of seven counts of rape, two sexual assault charges, kidnapping, causing serious bodily harm, strangulation with intent, and two threats to kill.
In addition, prosecutors proved Roberts committed a child neglect offense based on further investigations into another victim.
During the sentencing hearing on Thursday, July 24th, Roberts was handed a total prison term of 26.5 years coupled with an extended five-year licence period.
He was also subjected to a restraining order and mandated to be on the sex offenders register for an indefinite period.
