ASHLEY BORRER FROM BRIGHTON SENTENCED FOR SEVEN-YEAR CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN PORTSLADE
In a case that has shocked the Brighton community, Ashley Borrer, aged 37, of Hillside, Brighton, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after being convicted of a prolonged period of sexual abuse involving a young girl.The crimes took place over a span of seven years, beginning when the victim was just eight years old and continuing until she reached the age of 15.
According to court records, Borrer was found guilty on November 29 of six counts of rape and four counts of engaging in sexual activity with the girl, who was known to him.
The abuse occurred in Portslade, a suburb of Brighton, where the victim and the offender had a known relationship.
The court heard that the abuse started in 2005 and persisted until 2012, causing significant trauma to the young girl.
The investigation also uncovered disturbing evidence that Borrer had downloaded child sexual abuse images while awaiting trial.
These images depicted children being raped, further highlighting the severity of his criminal behavior.
Borrer pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing such images, which added to the weight of his sentencing.
His case was heard at Lewes Crown Court, where the judge handed down the 15-year sentence, reflecting the gravity of his offenses and the impact on the victim.
