ARON LAKH BIRMINGHAM ROBBERY AND INDECENT IMAGE CASE AT TAME BRIDGE PARKWAY
In a disturbing series of events that unfolded at Tame Bridge Parkway station in Wednesbury, a young man from Birmingham, Aron Lakh, was involved in a heinous crime that combined harassment, digital exploitation, and violent robbery.The incident, which took place on June 27 of the previous year, has garnered significant attention from law enforcement and the local community alike.
According to court proceedings, the victim, a teenage girl, was traveling on a train from Birmingham New Street station accompanied by a friend.
During the journey, she was subjected to a relentless barrage of threatening messages and phone calls from Aron Lakh, who was determined to intimidate her.
Lakh's threats included promises to physically harm her, specifically threatening to “smash” her face, which added a layer of physical danger to the harassment.
Further escalating the situation, Lakh sent her a message containing a link to a Facebook page he had created.
This page displayed explicit images of the girl, which he had previously shared on social media without her consent.
These images, reportedly taken when she was in her underwear, were used as a tool of intimidation and humiliation.
The victim, distressed and alarmed, disembarked from the train at Tame Bridge Parkway station in Wednesbury, seeking to escape the harassment.
However, her attempt to leave was thwarted when Lakh was waiting for her on the platform.
Demonstrating a threatening and aggressive demeanor, he followed her as she tried to make her way towards the exit.
The situation quickly turned violent when Lakh, on his bike, pulled out a knife from his waistband and demanded her phone, threatening to stab her if she refused.
In a state of fear, the girl handed over her mobile device.
Her friend, witnessing the distress and danger, promptly contacted the British Transport Police to report the incident.
As police officers responded to the emergency call and approached the station, they spotted Lakh fleeing the scene on his bike, matching the description provided by the girl’s friend.
Law enforcement officers pursued Lakh to his residence on Oscott Road in Birmingham, where they successfully apprehended him.
The subsequent court proceedings revealed the full extent of his actions.
On December 5, Lakh appeared before Coventry Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including disclosing private sexual images, robbery, and possession of a knife.
It was also established that he was violating the terms of a previously imposed suspended sentence for an earlier conviction.
In sentencing, Birmingham Crown Court handed down a sentence of four years and three months in a young offender institution.
Additionally, Lakh was subjected to a five-year restraining order designed to protect the victim from further contact or harassment.
