AROMIS FERRARI FROM WALCOT JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING UNDERAGE GIRL IN SWINDON
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community of Walcot and the wider Swindon area, 19-year-old Aramis Ferrari has been sentenced to a year in prison after admitting to serious sexual misconduct involving a minor. The incident came to light after Ferrari, who resides on Frobisher Drive, engaged in a series of inappropriate online communications with a 15-year-old girl, which culminated in a disturbing face-to-face encounter.According to court proceedings, the girl had clearly stated her age during their initial online exchanges, which took place a few days before Christmas. Despite this, Ferrari persisted in persuading her to meet him in a local park on Monday, December 28. During their meeting, Ferrari began to physically engage with her, hugging and kissing her, taking the lead in the interaction, as the court heard.
He then suggested they move to his grandmother’s house, which was nearby, claiming he was feeling cold. Once there, Ferrari removed the girl’s clothing and took photographs of her in a sexual manner. The girl later explained that she was unaware of the extent of his actions at the time, as she had her hands over her face during the incident.
It was at Ferrari’s grandmother’s house that further revelations occurred. The grandmother instructed them to come downstairs, and upon doing so, Ferrari saw the girl’s Facebook profile, which clearly indicated she had a boyfriend. This discovery appeared to provoke Ferrari, who then sent a series of messages accusing her of cheating on him. Subsequently, he forwarded the indecent photograph he had taken of her.
Initially, Ferrari refused to answer questions when questioned by police. However, he later wrote a letter admitting that being arrested had shaken him up. During a subsequent interview, he claimed that the girl had initiated the contact and that the photograph was not of her but was instead obtained from the internet. When confronted with the possibility of DNA evidence linking him to the photograph, Ferrari admitted to his actions.
The court was also informed that the girl had become less trusting of others following the incident, highlighting the emotional and psychological impact of Ferrari’s misconduct. Ferrari pleaded guilty to charges of sexual activity with a child and the taking and distribution of an indecent image of a child.
During the hearing, Clare Fear, representing Ferrari, emphasized that her client was remorseful and was only 18 at the time of the offense. She argued that it was not uncommon for teenagers to send explicit images in today’s digital age and described Ferrari’s actions as a “moment of madness.” She also pointed out that the girl had been under significant stress and distress due to the incident, which had been extremely difficult for her.
Judge Peter Blair QC delivered the sentence, condemning Ferrari’s behavior and emphasizing the severity of such offenses. The judge referenced the pre-sentence report, which indicated Ferrari’s arrogance and lack of awareness of the seriousness of his actions. The judge stated, “It is important for anyone to know in this town and across the country that this sort of behavior on people under 16 will be met with very severe punishment,” and he noted that Ferrari was fortunate to receive only a 12-month sentence.
In addition to his jail term, Ferrari was ordered to register as a sex offender for the next ten years, underscoring the long-term consequences of his actions and serving as a warning to others in the community of Walcot and beyond.
